The Setting

Set within 22 acres of beautiful East Anglian countryside, Shore Hall offers the space to step back from the demands of day-to-day work and focus on what matters most. Just 45 minutes north of London, the Grade II-listed estate combines historic character with complete privacy, featuring 10 bedrooms, nine distinctive event spaces, formal gardens, orchards, wildflower meadows, and ancient woodland. Available exclusively to your group, it provides the rare opportunity to gather without distractions, interruptions, or competing priorities.

The Facilitation

Meaningful progress rarely comes from a change of scenery alone. Led by Lara Holliday, a performance coach and facilitator who works with executives, entrepreneurs, elite athletes, women leaders, and teams, our retreats are designed to create the conditions for deeper thinking, stronger relationships, and better decision-making. Drawing on evidence-based coaching methodologies, nature-based experiences, and Horse Powered Insight®, Lara helps teams uncover new perspectives, strengthen communication, and navigate complexity with greater confidence and clarity.

The Infrastructure

While Shore Hall feels a world away from the office, it offers everything needed to support modern teams. Gigabit fibre broadband, comprehensive Eero mesh Wi-Fi, full audiovisual capabilities, cloud-based security, keyless entry, and smart EV charging ensure a seamless experience throughout the estate. Much of Shore Hall is powered by solar energy generated on-site, reflecting our commitment as a certified B Corp to thoughtful stewardship and long-term sustainability.

Event Spaces

The Speakeasy

Hidden away from the main house, the Speakeasy is Shore Hall's most atmospheric room. Inspired by the intimacy of a private members' club, it combines low lighting, a snooker table, and a relaxed, convivial atmosphere that naturally draws people together.

The Great Lawn

This breathtaking vista is the crown jewel of Shore Hall’s grounds. Facing the Manor House and with sweeping views of the terrace gardens, our paddocks, and groves, the Great Lawn is a glorious site for a spectacular outdoor event.

The Creative Studio

Shore Hall’s Creative Studio is a former greenhouse that is now home to our many creative endeavours. It’s a perfect spot for crafting, strategic visioning sessions, smaller yoga and movement classes, and anything else you can imagine!

The Great Hall

The Great Hall at Shore Hall Manor House and Gardens is our convertible workspace. Use it as a conference room, banquet hall, cocktail lounge, or yoga studio. We provide state-of-the-art A/V equipment and luxurious furnishings to make your team feel comfortable and ready to collaborate.

The Morning Room

With a view of our historic clock tower on one side and the cart pond on the other, the Morning Room is our favourite place for sipping coffee as the sun rises and enjoying a cocktail as the sun sets. Our baby grand Broadwood piano provides for spontaneous music-making and intimate concerts, while the tasteful decor sets the stage for unforgettable events.

The Dining Room

Overlooking the majestic great lawn and terrace, this grand dining room is home to the most refined and joyful dining experiences. Our extendable antique Edwardian dining table can seat six to ten guests with plenty of space for a banquet.

The Breakfast Room

This sun-drenched breakfast nook adjoins our kitchen and overlooks the terrace. With the french doors open, the abundant fragrance of the gardens and the stunning grandeur of the great lawn are the perfect backdrop to a nourishing meal.

The Drawing Room

The term "drawing room" is as old as the manor house itself, dating back to the 16th century. Visitors were invited to "withdraw" or "draw back" after dinner to a space where they could enjoy conversation and entertainment and relax away from the formality of gatherings.

The Library

There is a certain stillness to the Library. Shelves of books, comfortable seating, and soft lighting create a calm corner away from the day's demands — ideal for quiet reading, reflection, or simply settling in between sessions.

Lara Holliday

Lara is a performance coach, facilitator, and founder of Tide Risers, working with executives, entrepreneurs, elite athletes, women in leadership, and teams navigating growth, change, and complexity. Her work combines evidence-based coaching, experiential learning, and nature-based approaches to help individuals and organisations perform at their best.

James Forrester

James is a technology executive with more than 25 years of experience leading teams and driving innovation across global organisations, including senior leadership roles at Amazon Web Services, VMware, Microsoft, and Google.

Together, they have shaped Shore Hall as a place where people can step away from the demands of everyday life to think more clearly, connect more deeply, and create meaningful progress.
